65-inch TVs have become a kind of compromise for users: on the one hand, their display is large enough for comfortable viewing of TV programs, and on the other, such models are not too expensive. At the present stage, all of them are equipped with the Smart TV function: the only difference is on which platform it is implemented.
Since this segment of the market has become very popular over the past 2 years, the magazine’s editors have compiled a rating of 11 of the best 65-inch TVs. The following characteristics were used to select products for the final list:
- the quality of image transmission;
- implementing a sound system;
- the presence of advanced features;
- owner reviews and the conclusion of the in-house experts;
- reliability parameters;
- compliance of the basic functionality with the requested price.

OLED LG OLED65W9P
The choice between two equivalent candidates was very difficult, but in the end, the first line of the rating went to LG OLED65W9P. In fact, this is a complete alternative to the Samsung QE65Q90RAU with slightly modified equivalent functions. So, instead of the Yandex ecosystem, this TV supports LG Smart ThinQ, and the sound is provided by the same 6 speakers with a subwoofer and Dolby Atmos, only from a different brand. By the way, they are taken out by a separate panel, reducing the weight of the device for easy installation on the mounting bracket.
According to experts, it is possible to detect the difference between competing models only if you know how TVs with OLED and QLED matrices should work. The refresh rate of the image in the LG OLED65W9P is also 100 Hz with a software increase to 200. There is support for virtual reality, display dimming mode, remote control and implemented voice control. But the amount of internal memory here is 8 GB, which is why the model works significantly faster than the opponent. However, a huge price can compensate for this plus – it is precisely this price that is a deterrent for consumers.
- complete technological and technical equipment in accordance with the requirements of modern standards;
- remote Soundbar that makes it easier for the device to mount on the wall;
- availability of voice control;
- great design;
- highest quality image transmission.
- the price for a TV goes up to 335 thousand rubles.
QLED Samsung QE65Q90RAU
Samsung QE65Q90RAU followed in the footsteps of QE65Q67RAU, correcting some shortcomings and moving to the category of premium screens at 65 inches. Its main feature is: a combination of great image quality with stunning sound, which is provided by 6 speakers with a total power of 60 watts. Along with tweeters, the model contains a compact subwoofer and has a surround sound system-not every home stereo system is able to compete with such a set.
As for other aspects of TV, everything is completely identical to QE65Q67RAU: go down to the 4th line of the rating and repeat what you have passed. The only difference is even more bulkiness (35 kg with a stand) and power consumption (255 W). The rest doesn’t need any special introduction.
- high-quality upgrade of the sound system: 6 speakers + subwoofer;
- Motion Rate at 200 Hz, Picture Quality Index with an increased frequency of 3.7 kHz;
- availability of direct Full Array Elite dimming system;
- belongs to the Yandex Smart home ecosystem»;
- it has voice control and a decorative Ambient mode.
- a bulky TV with a fairly high power consumption.
NanoCell LG 65SM9800
This screen relies on technology and an abundance of attractive features. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a proper response among users. All the fault is the “one-sidedness” of the creators, who spat on external data for the sake of a revolutionary filling. Replace the TFT IPS matrix with QLED, and all problems are solved! But no: we are content with what we have. But with the functions of local screen dimming, support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Ultra HD 4k, as well as with a screen refresh rate of 100 Hz.
In addition to joining the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem and a whole range of advanced features, the LG 65SM9800 relies heavily on sound quality. That is why two more speakers were added to the two standard speakers, and their total power was equal to 40 watts. Given the automatic volume equalization, surround sound support, Dolby Atmos and the presence of a subwoofer, you should not start any additional stereo system. It is also worth noting the presence of voice control in the device, 2 GB of internal memory, as well as the True Motion system, which increases the screen refresh rate to 200 Hz. A revolutionary thing.
- special emphasis on sound quality (4 speakers of 10 W + subwoofer and a set of additional functions).);
- part of the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem;
- includes more than a dozen advanced features;
- the presence of voice control.
- the TFT IPS matrix.
QLED Samsung QE65Q67RAU
Slowly but surely, we got closer to TVs with a QLED display. Samsung QE65Q67RAU is one of the brightest representatives of this segment, which has received the highest quality rating from Russian buyers. It is based on the Tizen system, through which Smart TV technology is implemented. Among the useful features, you can note the standards for transmitting images in Ultra HD 4k and HDR10+, as well as the presence of progressive scanning.
Like all representatives of Samsung, the QE65Q67RAU is bulky (26 kg) and high power consumption (203 W). However, it implements a couple of cool solutions:
- Ambient mode that allows your TV to blend seamlessly into its surroundings;
- function dimming UHD Dimming Ultimate;
- Motion Rate, which increases the frame refresh rate to 200 Hz;
- the Smart Home system, which allows it to be part of the Yandex Smart home ecosystem.
- In view of such opportunities, the price tag of almost 100 thousand rubles looks quite justified.
- changed for the better visual style;
- plenty of additional features;
- Picture Quality Index with a frequency of 3.3 kHz;
- optimal price-performance ratio.
- bulky TV with high power consumption.
Panasonic TX-65GXR900 is a rather interesting LED TV. On the one hand, it has more modest personal settings for displaying images. On the other hand, its progressiveness reaches a new level. Among the formats of work is not only Ultra HD 4k, but also HDR10, HDR10+, and even Dolby Vision. Along with smart lighting, it has a local dimming function, And the dynamic scene index reaches a value of 1600 points.
In addition to the standard set of 2×10 W speakers, the Panasonic TX-65GXR900 has built-in digital receivers and a whole set of connection ports (including HDMI, USB, AV and component input). There is support for Dolby Atmos technology, which allows you to get high-quality stereo sound without an additional headset. The only serious drawback of the model can be called a large weight (27.5 kilograms), which can negatively affect the desire to hang the TV on the wall.
- whether Dolby (Vision and Atmos) functions are supported);
- local screen dimming is present;
- built-in light sensor;
- surround sound;
- high-quality color reproduction.
- a lot of weight.
The sixth line of the LG 65UU661H is due to high quality both in terms of reliability and functionality. Despite the 50 Hz frame refresh rate, the model provides excellent technical parameters, including for flexible user settings for displaying images. The brightness is adjustable up to 500 CD / m2, there is a progressive scan, and the viewing angle is 178°.
Unlike the previous competitor, this screen has no affinity with the Smart home system, but supports VR 360 and has Pro software.:Centric – an exclusive development from LG. Otherwise, the differences are minimal: the sound system lost Dolby support, the TV itself began to consume 177 watts of energy and “threw off” a couple of extra pounds. The design is significantly superior to Samsung’s UE65RU7200U – it’s pointless to argue with the obvious.
- support for virtual reality technology;
- relatively light weight (21 kg);
- wide range of brightness settings;
- catchy corporate design.
- large price differentiation (from 75 to 128 thousand rubles);
- lack of support for Dolby Atmos technology.
An important difference between the Samsung UE65RU7200U and the LG 65UM740 IS that the former can be connected not only to the Samsung SmartThings branded ecosystem, but also to The Yandex Smart home. In this regard, they are pre-installed voice assistant Alice, which works much better than the basic assistant LG.
Otherwise, the model almost completely repeats the capabilities of the opponent, except that the image transmission quality is better (with the same refresh rate of 100 Hz). But in terms of ergonomics, there are small problems. The fact is that the already heavy TV (25.1 kg) comes with a 3-kilogram stand. On the one hand, it is bad, but on the other hand, the leg can perform a masking function – the connection wires are hidden under it. We also note the inconvenient remote control and “annoying” frames that are not thin enough to be invisible and not wide enough to leave questions about the design.
- ability to join Samsung’s internal ecosystem and Yandex Smart home;
- 100 Hz refresh rate;
- acceptable sound quality.
- problems with the ergonomics of the TV itself and the complete remote control.
Despite the seemingly spot changes, the difference between the LG 65UM740 and the previous competitor is very significant. The frame refresh rate here is 100 Hz, there is a flicker suppression system and Direct LED illumination, modified in LG laboratories. We also note a lot of additional features, such as support for virtual reality helmets and voice control. Smart TV runs on webOS and offers fast downloads, especially with a high-speed, uninterrupted Internet connection.
The stereo system is similar to the Toshiba 65U5855EC and allows you to do without additional acoustics. By the way, the TV can be part of the overall ecosystem of LG Smart ThinQ and become part of the”smart home”. The cost of the model varies greatly from the favorable 47 to the expected 66 thousand rubles – we advise you to search well for all available offers.
- ability to connect to the smart home system»;
- refresh rate 100 Hz;
- support for VR glasses;
- control via voice commands.
- on some devices there are problems with recognition of voice commands.
We think that the starting point for understanding the important technical characteristics of TV sets is given. We will focus on the most important aspects, keeping in mind that all other characteristics are equal and identical. In the case of the Toshiba 65U5855EC, you can note a weak run-up of contrast settings (only 1200:1) and increased power consumption of 180 watts. Perhaps this is due to the more powerful installed speakers (2 x 10 W) with Dolby Digital decoders and volume equalization function.
In this model, manufacturers have abandoned the use of standard LED, replacing it with a Direct version of the backlight. It turned out better than TCL, but worse than LG and Samsung. The Android platform acts as the operating system for Smart TV, and it works more stably than in BBK 65LEX-8127 / UTS2C.
- powerful and stable Direct LED illumination;
- loud, surround sound;
- stable operation of applications in Smart TV mode.
- increased power consumption;
- small contrast adjustment range.
The line above is a TV from TCL, which has gained good support among users. In comparison with the competitor from BBK, it looks just great: it supports not only 4k UHD, but also HDR 10, has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and is based on the Linux system. The latter allows it to work well with applications, but setting up broadcast parameters is too difficult for many.
By the way, despite its sophisticated appearance, the TCL L65P6US weighs about 22.5 kilograms. This fact must be taken into account both during installation and during transportation. Despite the same 2 8-watt speakers, this version of the TV screen sounds much better than BBK: the reason for this is the surround sound function with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS codecs. The model has a storage device for recording TV shows, so you can postpone watching your favorite TV series until later, if you suddenly have serious business. According to the settings, everything is also fine, but the 8 MS delay of the pixel has not gone anywhere.
- very good stereo system with surround sound support;
- 60 Hz refresh rate;
- availability of a drive for recording programs;
- support for wireless communication.
- inconvenient and complex settings menu.
Equipment from BBK is gradually losing relevance among domestic consumers, and the 65lex-8127/UTS2C TV has not become a big exception to the rule. Despite the fact that its parameters are generally similar to competitors, users were able to find several nuances. But first, about the pros. It supports high-definition format with 4k UHD resolution, has a pre-installed version of Android Smart TV 2021, led backlight and pre-installed DVB signal receivers and Teletext. By default, it has 1,100 channels built in, and for many, this is a crucial factor in favor of buying.
The built-in BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C stereo can be called quite good: 2 speakers of 8 watts each produce high-quality sound, but a subwoofer or Soundbar would not hurt. The image quality is also impressive: the brightness is adjustable in the range of up to 300 CD / m2, the contrast ratio is 4000:1, and the viewing angles are optimal (178°). The refresh rate is generally neutral (50 Hz), but the pixel response time of 8 MS can be called a small disadvantage. We also note the dissatisfaction of users regarding the speed of installed applications – this means that 2 GB of RAM simply can not cope with the load.
